Abstract
The problem of designing an amplifier of powerful electromagnetic radiation in millimeter and submil- limeter wavelength band is one of the most important problem today. To solve this problem considerableefforts are being made in developing gyro-resonant TWT's as well as 0-type electron-wave systems withrelativistic beams and oversized electrodynamic structures. In realizing such devices a number of difficultiesoccur. For gyro-resonant TWT it is a necessity to set up more and more powerful magnetic fields whilemoving into the short-wave band. For relativistic electron-wave systems it is a strong dependence of theoutput radiation structure on the electron beam parameters and in consequence this dependence is unstable.
