Abstract
A two-stage second harmonic TE3,1 gyro-peniotron amplifier with a rising-sun slotted waveguide structure has beendesigned utilizing an axis-encircling beam. The unwanted TE2,1 gyrotron BWO was suppressed by using a rising-suninteraction structure. 45% efficiency is predicted for a 70 kV, 3.5A beam with 5% velocity spread and 10% guiding centerspread. Fabrication of couplers, if circuits, 20dB attenuator, window, and electron gun are underway.
