Abstract
Information regarding the bearing and range of anemitting (or absorbing) object may be obtained usingsuitable quasi-optical circuits to perform spatialinterferometry. These circuits can also be used torecover spectral information. The system consideredhere may be used to detect and locate eithernarrowband or broadband thermal targets which mayhe placed in a semi-transparent medium such as theatmosphere. Unlike conventional thermal imaging thetechnique may be employed to detect and range a targetwhose temperature is the same as that of its backgroundand surroundings.
