1 June 1994 New two-mirror systems for astrophysics

Abstract
New two-mirror fast coma-free systems with zero spherical aberration are proposed. Two large classes of these systems are investigated, 'front focal' systems and 'behind focal' systems. Well-known classical two-mirror systems are special cases of these classes. Some new aplanatic two-mirror systems cannot be found and investigated by means using third-order aberration theory, Gaussian optics and well-known optical computer programs (BIEM-3 for example). These systems can be used in telescopes, radiotelescopes, systems for cosmic rays explorations, and light collectors, (e.g., sun energy, etc.). These new systems can be used for investigations in a large spectral region, from far UV to far IR, or in radio wave observations, for astrophysics and space science. It is necessary to have special mathematical theory and software for designing of these new systems.
