Abstract
A fuzzy set approach has been developed to integrate heterogeneous data such as SAR and optronic radiometry, old cartography and Digital Elevation Model in a multi-criterial decision process, in order to detect airport. We also use a simple airport model with well known specifications (runway length longitudinal admitted slope, orientation constraint between runway and taxiways,...). This automatic algorithm works in 3 steps: runway detection on ERS-l image, taxiways detection on SPOT image an buildings detection on both images and has been successfully tested on different locations. The scanned area covers more than 300 square miles for each image.
