Abstract
An extension to image processing of Van Cittert's iterative restoration technique for one-dimensional data is presented. A particular advantage of the algorithm given here is the ability to satisfy amplitude constraints. It is useful for presentation of high-dynamic-range imagery in a limited display environment. Preliminary pictorial experiments are promising. Implementation aspects of the technique are further discussed.
