Structure and pyroelectrical properties of K-, Na- and Li-stearate films, obtained by vacuum deposition, were studied. IR-spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, scanning tunneling microcopy and scanning electron microscopy observations show a large difference in the molecular ordering and orientation in these films. The values of the pyroelectric coefficient g also essentially differ for these compounds. The largest value of g is observed for NaSt films and has an order of 10-6 Coul*m-2*K-1.
