Abstract
Multiwavelength optically controlled phased array antenna (MWOCPAA) is demonstrated in both 1D and 2D array system. In 1D MWOCPAA, a programmable dispersion matrix (PDM) implemented using Bragg fiber grating is employed for beam angle control. For 2D MWOCPAA, switching optical delay lines are cascaded with the PDM to form an all-optical hardware compressive architecture. Relative time delays are experimentally measured using a prototype 4 X 2 MWOCPAA with 2-bit X 2-bit resolution. The results agree well with the theoretical prediction.
