14 November 1996 Parallel processing system based on LAN for image processing applications

Abstract
In this paper, an MIMD parallel system is proposed for image processing applications. The system includes four worker processors and one master processor which are connected together using the facilities provided by a local area network. Results of using the system for implementing low level image processing algorithms and the recognition of objects in parallel will be reported.
