Abstract
The Haefely neutron generator (HNG) was installed at IGA in January 1984 with the sole purpose of conducting fusion related neutronics research. Due to a recent change in priorities, the generator is presently dedicated to teaching activities in the framework of advanced practicals for undergraduate physics students of EPFL. This paper describes numerical modeling of the HNG and emphasizes design aspects important in its current utilization.
