Abstract
The investigation has revealed the reason which the environmental stability of methylene blue sensitized dichromated gelatin (MBDCG) holograms can only by improved by coating some polymer solutions. An efficient method of resisting humidity into MBDCG holograms is reported in this paper. The method used the viscid liquid of pure polystyrene of low degree of polymerization as coating materials. Based on this coating, the diffraction efficiency of coated MBDCG holograms exposed to high humidity environment is not observed significant changes during observation.
