20 September 1996 Nonlinear optical loop mirror with traveling wave semiconductor laser amplifier and its applications

Abstract
The use of nonlinear optical loop mirror with traveling wave semiconductor laser amplifier in high speed optical signal processing is reviewed. Clock signal extracted from unequal amplitude 4 X 2.5 GHz optical time division multiplexing signal and clock component generated from non-return-to-zero format data are demonstrated using a nonlinear loop mirror configuration.
