Abstract
This paper discusses a real-time monitoring system using embedded fiber-optic sensors and the signal processing of the system. The etched fibers are embedded in composite material perpendicularly to build a two-dimensional fiber- sensor array. The output light signals, by a CCD (charge- coupled device), are converted into the electric signals which are transmitted to A/D (analog-digital) interface and are processed by a computer. So the state of the composite material can be real-time monitored from the monitor. This paper describes the interface sampling and software design and gives the detecting results.
