Abstract
The effects of the direction of propagation of the optic wave, the length of acousto-optic interaction and the power density of the controlling RF-signal on the spectral response of a noncollinear acousto-optic tunable filter of TeO2 is discussed and illustrated from the viewpoint of practical applications. An example of filter design using these dependencies is presented. The calculated spectral characteristics of the bandpass width, the spectral resolution and the diffraction efficiency are compared with those measured experimentally. It is shown that the calculated spectral characteristics describe well the experimentally measured ones for a filter prototype.
