Abstract
A noncontact optical sensor for vibration measurement in a broad frequency and amplitude ranges is investigated. The sensor is able to measure vibration amplitudes less than 1 micrometers and up to 5 mm with the upper frequency of 100 kHz. The frequency range of the measured vibration is limited up only by the frequency characteristics of the electronic device. The sensor measures vibration from small area and it might measure vibration from objects of small mass, because no any influence of the mechanical characteristics of the vibrating object.
