Abstract
A phenomenon of optical activity reversal under repolarization in ferroelectric Pb5Ge3O11 is used in order to build up an electrically switched diaphragm. A small coercive field allows to control efficiently the transverse dimension of parallel light beam. Unlike the analogous devices based on the birefringent domains, the given construction is simpler and can work with incoherent light. The device can be utilized as a spatial filer with controlled spatial frequency pass band in optical analog information systems.
