Abstract

Er₂O₃ doped fluogermanate glasses have been prepared by the melting method. The optical absorption spectra and fluorescence emission spectra of the glasses were measured. The influence of Er³⁺ concentrations on the fluorescence emission intensity was discussed. Green upconversion emission was observed for the Er³⁺ doped fluogermanate glass.
