25 June 1999 Stochastic focusing to edge detection from interest points

Abstract
We present in this paper a stochastic approach for indoor scenes exploration. A major problem in this context is to find and characterize appropriate local features for performing the analysis at the object level. In the present application these features are essentially interest points like corners and vertices, the strategies we have defined are based on direct processing images and collecting evidence to support a specified hypothesis about a scene. This is managed efficiently to by using a probabilistic approach to selecting and grouping fixations points. Opposed to classical solutions we have interested in processing only useful information, we look for this information guided by the local observations in the grouping process.
