Abstract
In this note we demonstrate the utility of omni-directional images for efficiently deriving high-resolution environment models. Omni- Directional Vision Sensors (ODVS), which have a wide field of view, are the most suitable for immersive virtual walk-through in a remote environment. In this paper, we show omni-directional images that are acquired using high-resolution digital camera. Also we show the synthetic omni-directional images generated using 3D graphics methods. The high-resolution and the synthetic images provide invaluable high-quality input image for visual modeling research use.
