Abstract
On the basis of the reciprocal characteristic of SAR image and optical image, two new image fusion algorithms based on the wavelet transformation is presented to implement fusion of SAR image and optical image. The first method of image fusion presented in the paper is that the wavelet transform decomposition of SAR image and optical image is finished, then compare their decomposition coefficient in order to get the bigger decomposition coefficient regarded as the new decomposition coefficient, and use the method of reconstruction to get a new fusion image. The second method of image fusion presented in the paper is that apply the wavelet decomposition to SAR image and optical image, get the high frequence information of wavelet transformation of SAR image and the detail information of wavelet transformation of SAR image and the detail information of wavelet transformation of optical image, then compose a new decomposition coefficient and get a new fusion image. Both of these method achieve better results in experiment, the first method is prior to the second method.
