Abstract
This paper reports a combined optical current and voltage measurement system for 500 kV transmission line in the electrical substations. The system consists of the Faraday effect current sensor, the Pockels effect voltage sensor, the 500 kV optical insulator and the signal-processing unit. Both the optical current sensor and the optical voltage sensor are mounted inside an optical insulator. The performance of the system is tested and the experimental results will report.
