Abstract
A rigorous numerical model has been developed to study Ti:LiNbO3 Mach-Zehnder interferometric (MZI) modulators. In this present study a comparison was made between an unetched waveguide and an etched Ti:LiNbO3 ridge waveguide Mach-Zehnder interferometric (MZI) modulator in order to show the benefits of using edged ridge waveguides for the MZE modulator. In this study, it was shown that the modulator could be improved further by manipulation of the appropriate fabrication parameters.
