Abstract
The positions of the Charge Transfer (CT) and the 4f- 4fn-15d (fd) transitions of the trivalent rare-earth ions in CsCdBr3 are estimated using the Jorgensen and Dorenbos methods, respectively. The CT spectra of Sm3+, Eu3+, Tm3+ and Yb3+ and the f-d transitions of Pr3+ in CsCdBr3 were measured. Experimental and theoretical results are compared.
