PIMAWS (Passive IR Missile Approach Warning System) is an Advanced Technology Demonstrator (ATD) for a Passive IR Missile Approach Warning System for use on all flying platforms. The ATD is under development under a contract to the German MoD. First the presentation about PIMAWS will cover the basic design principles to understand, how the system is working (based on real-time signal- and image-processing algorithms): Requirements for passive missile warning.
