Abstract
Differential mode delay is the main problem, limiting maximum length specifications for Gigabit Ethernet over multimode fiber optic cabling. A model of pulse propagation along multimode fiber, taking into account DMD, is proposed. Method of installed multimode fiber optic transmission lines examination, based on proposed model, is represented. This method had been successfully used for adaptation of combined MAN multimode fiber optic transmission line for Gigabit Ethernet, described for example in this paper.
