Abstract
In the high-speed fiber communication system, the dispersion, non-linear effect, the performance of receiver and so on limit the further increase of transmission distance of fiber communication system. In order to reduce the effect of these adverse factors and improve the performance of fiber communication system, the FEC technology has been applied into the high-speed fiber communication system for further improving the quality of communication. The ITU-T stipulates that the basic FEC codes applied into the high-speed fiber communication system are BCH Code and RS Code. In this paper we give a detailed generalization and analysis of FEC technology, on the basis of analysis of some FEC technology and some present methods of implementing the function of FEC, we put forward the assumption of Advanced FEC and analyse its some performances in detail.
