6 July 1986Fiber Optical Subscriber Loop For Joint Transmission Of Broad- And Narrowband Signals In Frequency Multiplex
A digital optical subscriber loop system for the transmission of one broad- and 30 narrowband channels over one fiber link is described. For the 2 Mbit/s narrowband and the 140 Mbit/s broadband signal electrical frequency multiplexing has been applied. Despite the very simple filters the completed system showed satisfactory operational performance. To improve the sensitivity for the narrowband channel for emergency operation two modified concepts for transimpedance amplifiers are described.
