Abstract
Land and resources databases are divided into four levels: county, city, province and nation in China. These databases are heterogeneous in structures, separately located, and managed by different GIS software. How to keep the upper level databases consistent in real-time when the lower grade databases changes is a challenging problem. The OGC Web Feature Service (WFS) specification proposes web based interoperable interfaces for describing data manipulation operations on geographic features using HTTP as the distributed computing platform. This paper introduces a method to solve the problem of remote synchronization between different level databases using WFS as data access interface, and analyzes the implement mechanism.
