Abstract
The effects of concentration of TTIP, amount of distilled water, and calcination temperature on morphology and particle size distribution of ZrO2/nano-TiO2 catalysts were investigated. Mixed ZrO2/nano-TiO2 powders were prepared by a modified sol-gel method by varying the mole fraction of TTIP from 0.002 to 0.01, H2O/TTIP fraction from 2 to 8, and various stirring time (2, 4, and 10 h). The prepared ZrO2/nano-TiO2 powders have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and TG/DTA. Each oxide was calcined at the temperature between 110 and 1000°C. The results showed that the calcinations temperature has a pronounced effect on the phase formation and particle size of the calcined zirconium titanate (ZT) powders.
