Abstract
Optical realization of nonlinear dynamical systems such as one-dimensional maps requires nonlinear optical devices whose degree of nonlinearity is more than saturation. It is shown that the equilibrium-state emission of the electron-trapping material (ETM) under simultaneous blue light and near-infrared (NIR) illumination has highly nonlinear behavior. By controlling the two exposures, the luminescence of this stimulable storage phosphor can produce a variety of nonlinear behaviors. This nonlinear behavior is utilized in nonlinear optical signal processing.
