31 October 1986 Low Mass Mirrors In Large Optics

Abstract
For use in large mirrors in outer space, where low mass is a critical need, carbon fiber developments are under our investigation sins six years. Our candidate for a successor to the Hubble Space Telscope will be here presented. The telescope mirror is a 10-meter diameter monolithic primary. In our option we use a Nasmyth Focus, because of mirror stability. The telescope is located in geosynchronous orbit to live out enviromental constraints and pusch observing efficiency.
