Abstract
The optical vortex interferometer (OVI) is based on the regular net of optical vortices, which are generated by the interference of three plane waves. In this paper the current state of the OVI is described. The paper starts with an outline of the OVI theory. In the next step the three different versions of the optical body of OVI are shortly described. The possible enhancements of the instrument are also discussed Next the methods for interfergoram analysis are presented and the possible applications of the OVI are listed and shortly discussed.
