Abstract
The results of the experimental investigations of the energy, temporal and spectral characteristics of the atomic fluorine laser radiation at 703, 713 and 731 nm wavelength pumped by pulsed cylindrical inductive discharge (PCID) are presented. The investigations of pulsed inductively coupled plasma radiation intensity under various pumping conditions have been performed. In the experiments a gas mixture He:F2 - 100:1 as active medium was used. Total pressure was varied in the range of 0.1 - 300 torr. Maximum laser output radiation energy of 1.3 mJ in He:F2 - 100:1 gas mixture under the pressure of 25 Torr was achieved. At the pressure of 25 Torr the lasing was observed on two lines (703 nm and 713 nm) with the stronger line at 703 nm and two times weaker line at 713 nm. With the pressure increasing higher than 30 Torr the generation energy was reduced due to the decreasing the 703 nm line intensity and the 731 nm line was appeared in the generation spectrum. The pulse duration was 40 ns (FWHM) that correspond to the peak pulse power of 30 kW. The laser beam had a ring form with outer diameter of 32 mm and thickness of 1.5-2.0 mm, and divergence of 0.4 mrad.
