Abstract
Embedded system has very closely relations with certain hardware; its functions are implemented by two or more tasks working together concurrently. Therefore, the key of multitask system development is how to divide the application system into several tasks reasonably and design the cooperation flow of multitasks in detail as well as the logic flow within the task. The detailed process in analyzing mobile phone is described in this paper. Finite state machine (FSM) and Petri net are the ideal tools for analyzing and designing multi-task system. It performs well in expressing the features of multitask system, which are cooperation, concurrence and synchronization. The process of analyzing and designing mobile phone using FSM and Petri-net are explained in detail in this paper, and some implementation issues are also discussed.
