Abstract
The advantages of laser cutting with respect to mechanical cutting for nuclear fuel elements disassembly are reported. The problems related to the usage of laser in a warm cell are discussed. The results of disassembly by CO2 laser of fuel elements mock-ups are presented together with a conceptual design of a laser system for this purpose.
