Abstract
We report on a new sustainable approach to modulate the morphological and optical properties of aqueous colloids of gold nanorods by engineering of their overgrowth kinetics in the original pot. The overgrowth is realized by a fine control over the reduction of the gold ions which are left unreduced in the primal synthesis. We show the possibility to modify the intensity and position of the absorption and scattering peaks over several tens of nanometers.
