Abstract
Farmers more hope than ever access to the agricultural information services today. As usual, the agricultural information is scattered in different locations on the Web, which is difficult for the farmers to find and collate. In order to simplify access of agricultural science and technology information, we designed and implemented an intelligent inquiry system. Firstly, we extract the local data model of each node, and established the mapping relations with the global data model. Secondly, we keep the metadata standard, data model, mapping and database nodes information in the resource directory. Thirdly, the central node accepts the query request from the Web page, dispatches it to the local nodes, and merges the query results. At last, the Web page will show users all the related agricultural information. Through a single entrance, users get a large number of authoritative and comprehensive science and technology information resources.
