Abstract
Shot boundary detection is the first step of analysis of the video contents. In this paper, it proposes a new algorithm of the shots edge detection based on the product of the adjacent scale wavelet transform. At first, each video frame image in the shot is carried on wavelet transform, and then gets the modulus and direction of adjacent scale wavelet transform scale plot of every frame image. Secondly, we calculate absolute distance among consecutive frames scale plot and modulus, and get discrete value between two frames. Finally we use adaptive threshold segmentation to detect shot edges.
