Abstract
In the problems of conventional bearings only passive location, the convergence time is often somewhat too long to track target effectively. Thus a passive location algorithm exploits the radiation information of spaceborne targets is presented. Considering the spaceborne radiation fading factor of the target is zero, exploiting the change rate of the radiation information, a new passive location algorithm is derived. The proposed algorithm is compared to the classical bearings only passive location algorithm. Simulation results are included to corroborate the theoretical development. The theoretical and simulation results show that the radiation information based location algorithm achieves quicker convergence than conventional algorithm and thus get more reaction time in passive location.
