Abstract
Land use/cover change (LUCC) research is an important research area of global environment change, but the research on the coal mining area is little. Taking the typical mining city -Jiaozuo City in Henan Province as a case with multi-temporal remote sensing images as major data resources and combining social and economic statistic data, the change of land use of Jiaozuo City in recently ten years was systematically studied, and then the ecological environmental effect caused by land use change was analyzed based on the theories of ecological services value. The research result shows that the condition in mining city was deteriorating and measures shall be taken to improve ecological environment. The studied result can provide scientific basis for ecosystem construction and strategic decisions for sustainable development of mining city.
