Finger stroke detection is an important topic in hand based Human Computer Interaction (HCI) system. Few research
studies have carried out effective solutions to this problem. In this paper, we present a novel approach for stroke
detection based on mono vision. Via analyzing the optical flow field within the finger area, our method is able to detect
finger stroke under various camera position and visual angles. We present a thorough evaluation for each component of
the algorithm, and show its efficiency and effectiveness on solving difficult stroke detection problems.
