8 September 1976Long Wavelength Radar; Its Purpose And Applications
The long wavelength radar technology, as used in IMFRAD, was originally developed as a means of performing concealed target detection of tactical targets. Recent investigations show that the technology has applications over a wide spectrum of target cueing, strike control and wide area surveillance problems. The capability of the sensor to see through foliage enhances to ability to perform these functions. Requirements for a system to fulfill one such application will be discussed.
