Abstract
In this paper, the authors, chairs of the 13th Conference on Optical Fibers and Their Applications OFA2011, and editors of the conference proceedings summarize the developments of optical fiber technology in Poland (during the period of 2009-2011) on the basis of papers presented there and consecutively published in this volume. The digest is, thus, not full but covers the periodically presented material every 18 months during the meetings on optical fibers in Bialystok-Bialowieza (with emphasis on applications) and Lublin-Krasnobrod (with emphasis on technologies).
