Abstract
We present a polarization insensitive and omnidirectional broadband near perfect metamaterial absorber in the near infrared regime. The electromagnetic response of the metamaterial absorber is theoretically investigated. The bandwidth of absorption spectrum can be effectively expanded. The broadband metamaterial absorber is polarization insensitive and the absorption remains high even at large incident angles for both transverse electric and transverse magnetic configurations.
