Abstract
Beginning in the mid 30s of the last century german engineers designed and built a lot of optoelectronic devices which were used in the 2nd world war. Research was done also in the field of heat bearing devices (also known as Wärmepeilgeräte) that worked in a really simple but nonetheless reliable way. They will be the main emphasis of this paper.
