Abstract
The non-ideal theoretical correlation characteristics of traditional spread spectrum sequences prevent researchers from further decreasing the multi-path and multi-access interference in a CDMA communication system. Complementary sequence sets were brought about to be a prospective candidate for future spread spectrum systems due to their ideal correlation characteristics. In this paper, basic concepts of complementary sequence sets are presented, followed by some analysis on their advantages over regular spread spectrum sequences when employed in a CDMA system. Subsequently, a special complementary sequence set called Bridge Function Sequence set is introduced regarding its basic concept and construction method. Finally, theoretical proof of bridge function sequence sets' complementarity, to some extent, paves the way for their potential applications in future CDMA communication systems.
