Abstract
A theoretical investigation on a self-referencing and calibration SPR refractive index (RI) sensor based on microstructured optical fibers is presented. The finite element method (FEM) is used to study the channel discriminative property of the sensor. An average RI sensitivity of 6870nm/RIU in the range 1.34-1.38 is achieved as a self-referencing sensor. A self calibration sensor with high linearity and accuracy is also demonstrated.
