Abstract
It is a key of all template matching techniques to construct an initial target template. The paper presents an update Snake model, and applies it on the initial template construct process in vehicle image tracking system. The update Snake model is improved mainly on two aspects: one is reconstructing its internal and external energy functions, and the order is adaptively modifying the weights. The update Snake model stretches demand for selecting of initial control points, and quickens the contour searching on a certain extent so as to meet the system's demand for real-time. Besides, the number of contour feature points can adaptively change with the size and complexity of the target, in order to the target contour more precise.
