Abstract
In generation of the true color image with the hyper-spectral data, there are still some key issues. On one hand, it is of great difficulty in obtaining a true-color image, which is satisfying the human visual habit, with narrow band-width hyper-spectral data. On the other hand, the degradation of the performance of the hyper-spectral sensor will also cause the color distortion. In this paper, a color calibration method based on physical model for hyper-spectral data is proposed to deal with those questions. Employing the color matching function, the method reconstructs the true color image with the spectral information in the red, green and blue band extracted from the hyper-spectral data. Combining the in situ measurements of the reflectance spectrum of artificial targets, the true colors of the targets were first deduced with the radiative transfer model. Therefore, the color calibration model was established. The novel method was validated with the aerial hyper-spectral data to be suit for the calibration of the true color images.
