Abstract
Integrated optics is an exciting platform to achieve optical measurement of T in the micro and nanoscale with high accuracy and reliability. Nevertheless, silicon microrings are affected by two-photon absorption (TPA) that limits the sensitivity of the devices because of self-heating. Wide-bandgap materials can overcome this problem. In this talk I will present some examples of the use of GaN and diamond-based microdisks that surpass the limits of silicon-based microrings. Also, silicon nitride nanomembranes have been used to obtain high-temperature resolution down to 15 K at room T.
